Guesthouse “De Appelgaard”

Feel welcome to wonderful stay in the middle of a 100-year-old tall tree orchard. Guest House “De Appelgaard” is situated along the river Lek, hidden behind the dyke, near the old historic town of Culemborg.

The beautiful sanctuary, situated in protected rural outskirts, has grown into one of the special features of the rural area called “Redichemse Waard” and is a symbol of peace and quiet, relaxation and authentic enjoyment.

The guest rooms, all on the ground floor, are situated in the former cow shed, which has been fully renovated and now houses six comfortable rooms.

A Betuws farmer’s breakfast with local products, including farmer’s bread, fruit from the orchard and freshly laid eggs complete your stay.

For nature lovers and culture enthusiasts there is an array of options, like a romantic picnic along the water branched off the river Lek, which is suitable for swimmers and at only a stone’s throw from “De Appelgaard”. Discover the various museums, take a captivating city walk and do not miss out on the highly commended terraces in the centre of Culemborg.

Enjoy the delightful surroundings of Guest House “De Appelgaard”, at walking distance from the centre of Culemborg but still in the middle of nature. Walk or get on a bike and follow the flowing rivers, the blossoms and the feeling of being away from it all. In other words: taste the Betuwe area and come and stay at “De Appelgaard”!
